The Shape of Jazz to Come (1959)

Awesome avant-garde jazz, very influential in that it is arguably the very early starting point of free jazz, since it featured no chord structure and multiple players improvising simultaneously.

"I decided, if I'm going to be poor and black and all, the least thing I'm going to do is to try and find out who I am. I created everything about me."
